Lantana - Patriot Rainbow

Lantana - Ham and Eggs
Lantana "Patriot Rainbow"

Lantana is actually a tropical shrub and produces long branches.   Some selections creep while others arch upward.  Creeping types grow about 1 foot tall and 3 feet wide.  Larger arching types may grow to 4 feet tall and equally wide.  Both can be planted to soften the hard edges of the landscape.  Lantana tolerates poor, sandy soil or clay when provided good drainage.  It blooms profusely, even in the hottest weather, and is often perennial in the Lower and Coastal South.   Sunny areas are the best, although a few hours of shade per day are okay.   Flower colors range from yellow, orange, magenta, white, red, and pink to purple.   Frequently they behave like chameleons with their tiny flowers fading and changing color from day to day.
