Verbena tenuisecta or Moss Verbena "Blue Violet Tapien"

Moss verbena is a usually prostrate to decumbent sometimes erect, aromatic annual or perennial with 3 lobed leaves to 1 1/2 inches long, the lobes pinnatifid with linear, entire or toothed segments.  Verbena is a genus of about 250 species of annuals, perennials, and subshrubs, some of them tuberous or rhizomatous, occurring in usually open and sunny habitats.  Almost all are from tropical and temperate regions or North, Central and South America.  It should be grown in moist but well-drained, moderately fertile soil in full sun.  Hardiness rating of this variety is zones 8-10.

Details:  Blooming when purchased, continues to bloom profusely.

Bad news, trimmed this back summer 1999 because it was growing out over the walk too much, and it didn't survive.  Too bad, I really liked this.
