Verbena Romance Red
"Romance Red" Verbena

Verbena is an erect and bushy, or spreading and mat forming, hairy perennial, usually grown as an annual, with ovate to oblong, toothed, rough mid to dark green leaves.  In summer and autumn, they bear right, corymb-like panicles, to 3 inches or more across, of tiny, salverform, sometimes scented, white, pink, red, yellow, or purple-blue flowers, each usually with a white eye.  They should be grown in moist but well-drained, moderately fertile soil, in full sun.  They are considered hardy in zones 7-9.  They are known for their heat tolerance.
