Geranium x cantabrigiense "Biokovo"
Hardy geraniums are different from what most people
think of as geraniums, which are really Pelargoniums. These flowers are completely
hardy to zone 3 usually. They vary greatly in stature and habit, many low growing
and making superb ground covers. They grow in ordinary soil in sun or part shade.
They are somewhat drought tolerant, but not very heat tolerant. Although
rated to zone 8, here in hot zone 8b, many do not survive. This variety is supposed
to be more heat tolerant than others. I planted last fall, will see how it survives
the heat of this summer.
